Revelation 8:5-7

Rev 8:5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake. 6And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

The terrors that are abounding in the time of Revelation remains incomprehensible for our mind.  However, try to imagine the worst thing possible and then know it is not close to what these people will be going through.  Now it is supposed that some of the prayers offered up by the saints could be for vengeance. It seems odd for any Christian to pray for revenge but these times are not of the normal.  The agony and the persecution that was with stood may warrant this request.  The angle taking the fire and hurling it on the earth appears to be new sorrows.  There is thunder, lightning and an earthquake.  Take care to remember Jericho and the seven blasts from those trumpets, the ENTIRE CITY fell!  These were the priests of Israel and the trumpets.  What more damage can these heavenly trumpets of judgement do being blown by angels?

Who is this unnamed angel?  Could it be the Angel of Jehovah?  The Old Testament mentions the "pre-incarnate" of Christ many times.  Think of Abraham and who appeared to him, then the angel who wrestled with Jacob, the angel who appeared to Moses, and again in the Book of Zechariah as the angel who stands to plead for Joshua.  It might be, it never really comes out and directly states, but, some say it is quite clear.

Verse 6, here come the angels with the trumpets ready!  Verse 7 is Angel #1 and it is pretty clear what happens, hail, and fire, (meteorites?)  Maybe... It is translated as one third of all the Earths vegetation will be burned up. (Joel 1:18-20)  But the symbolic meaning here as those who stand against God as trees is more significant.  Recall Isaiah 40:6 where man is the grass that is trampled.  It shows our tenderness, weakness, frailty.  Then, consider what John the Baptist said in Matthew 3:10  "10 The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire."  This is an obvious connection to the trees burning...man strong and independent without God, man trying to be dignified, not humble.  The grass is the weak men, those who just rejected Him as savior.  They will be burnt up, all the grass and the third part of the trees.  The choice here is pretty clear...at least to me.  But, Christ doesn't want you to run to him because your afraid of destruction, He wants you to walk with Him daily, to allow Him to  make your life better NOW!  To not ever fear, or want or be alone!  The choice is yours, He is waiting!!!

Next blog, the Second angel is about to blow!

Revelation 8:1-4

Rev 8:1When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. 3Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. 4The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand.

Christ opens the 7th seal and there is silence.

Before we go any deeper, look were we are...we stand at the final opening ....well before the end.  Notice that we are actually at the end (of our world).  The parenthetical chapter (chapter 7) brought us up to the end, chronologically.  This seventh trumpet is the beginning of the world of our God and His son Christ Jesus and carries us up to the time the dead will be judged.  This is now a shadow or a duplication of prophetic truth.  From chapter 4 up to and including chapter 11 there is truth presented in a sequence, an orderly procession of what happens after the church is raptured continuing up to the end.

The 7th seal is opened in verse one, then verse 2-6 fall back into a parenthetical passage telling us what is happening in heaven after the seal is open and before the first trumpet.

What we see within the 7th seal is the 6 trumpets sounded and again we find ourselves with a parenthetical area.  But, let's get into chapter 8 and explain from there.

Chapter 8:1
We start with silence.  A quiet so void of any noise it is almost deafening it self.  This last for "about half an hour".  There is NO noise, no music, no breathing heard, no animal sound, it is so quiet as to be intense!
This might be the ultimate "quiet before the storm" (the revelation).
This is also the time where the prayers from the saints are about begin.  It may be that quiet so all prayer is heard and nothing is missed.

Verse 2 is unique in that is seems out of place.  So much so that it was suggested it might be a copyist's mistake. and should fall before verse 7. This is where it mentions the seven angels preparing to sound the trumpets. In verse 7, the first angel sounds the first trumpet.

Verse 3 is the verse where the angel (unnamed) offers the prayers of the saints to God.  The angel is at the altar. But which altar?  Since there is no animal sacrifices in heaven, it is not the altar of burnt offering.  It is most likely the altar that stood in the Holy Place in the Temple.  See Lev 16:12 and Num 16:46.  More importantly we need to understand that our prayer is an offering to God, that we, (man) may have no other offering to give to God, but at all times our prayers will be brought to God like an sweet smelling incense carried to Him by angelic hands!  Praise GOD !  For He is our Father in Heaven and desires to hear from us!  DAILY !!! Verse 4 tells us the incense and the prayers go up together before God.  Then things change.  Stay with me for the next blog as we continue to go through the final book of the Bible.

Revelation 7: 13-17

Rev 7:13Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes–who are they, and where did they come from?” 14I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15Therefore, “they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over 16Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat.17For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”

The question is, "Who are they?'  Well, during the great tribulation, there will be leaders,Dan. 12 revers to them as t"the wise among the people"  These will be the teachers, the leaders to Christ, the instructors of righteousness.  These will be the 144,000 Jewish missionaries.  They are the ones who made it!  The ones who have come through the great tribulation, the one that Jesus told us about in Mark 13:19 and Matthew 24:21.  Verse 14 goes on to explain this.
In addition, notice we see mention of white robes again.  In the ancient times, you were not allow to approach any god with dirty or soiled robes on, it was just forbidden.  White robes are a symbol of purity and victory to a new life.  They are in the white robes because they are going to a new life, they were cleansed by the grace of God and His love.  They white robes are for the victory they have in Christ.
The "Blood of the Lamb" needs some explanation.  The Hebrews knew the blood stood for the life, this is why they did not and still do not eat anything that still has the blood in it. (see Genesis 9:4)  The life giving blood of Christ, the blood that was shed so that we may have life.  It was what Christ did for us and the meaning behind it that makes our robes white with "the blood of the Lamb."
Now, turn to Matthew 5:8, it says that those who are pure of heart shall see God! This is what the "they" in 13 are about to do, actually SEE GOD!  Remember, it is the Levites and the priests that served God day and night.  Why?  Because the Gentiles faced death if they entered the Temple in Jerusalem....notice the change.  We saw in verse 9 that this group are from every race, tribe, people and tongue and they are now in the presents of God.  The tent is probably the millennial temple, which will be built in the coming day.  We know there is no day or night in heaven so, this is our connection that it is referring to a time here on Earth.
Verse 16 and 17 are more insights to what the people have had to endure as martyrs of the Tribulation, Hunger, heat, the sun, living as vagabonds, and nomads away from the Antichrist's area.  Verse 16 and 17 are the promises of our Heavenly Father that He will cover them, He will dwell with them and protect them, no more thirst, hunger, and tears will be wiped away.

Dear friends please do not struggle to go through this horrible time of Tribulation mentioned.  Christ is here for you and the promises of the Bible are God's promises to us, promises to care for you, to be there for you and to prosper you...YES, I said prosper.  He does not want to see us unhappy, in pain or poor.  Christ is the answer!  Just look!
