Revelation 10 5-11

Rev 10:5Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to heaven,6and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, WHO CREATED HEAVEN AND THE THINGS IN ITAND THE EARTH AND THE THINGS IN ITAND THE SEA AND THE THINGS IN IT, that there will be delay no longer,7but in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, then the mystery of God is finished, as He preached to His servants the prophets 8Then the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, “Go, take the book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the land.” 9So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he *said to me, “Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.”10I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.11And they *said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples and nations and tongues and kings.”

Hebrews 10:37 "37FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILEHE WHO IS COMING WILL COMEAND WILL NOT DELAY".   2 Thessalonians 2:3 "3Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,"  This is the message that the Antichrist is about to arrive.  We are getting ready for the final battle.  It states "there will be delay no longer"!

Notice in verse 6 it uses the word "swore", the angel swore by God.  This has never happened before but, this is yet another indication that it is Christ who we are dealing with.

Then we read that the mystery of God is finished!?  Yes, it will come down to the purpose of God in dealing with us (human) will be displayed, shown, revealed.  It is time for action, the days of words, and seeking, and waiting for us to come to the Father are about to end.

John is instructed to "take" the little book, notice it is told of him twice to "take" the little book.  This is just our God being exactly what He promised.  We have to "take" the Word, He will NEVER force us to have it or put it in our hands, it is up to us to take it!  Amazing, up to the end, God is the same, yesterday, today and tomorrow....right up to the very end!  AMEN..Please take a minute and get the full meaning of this.  His promises are ALWAYS, grab hold of the Word, His promises, His healing, companionship, HIS LOVE!  You can have that personal relationship with Him, he wants it too, you MUST take it.

John was then instructed to "eat" the little book.  This is not new, we read it in Ezekiel 3:1 & 3 where Ezekiel was asked to eat the scroll.  The meaning is the same, we are to devour the Word, to eat it day and night, to digest it as food for the soul.  To make it part of our daily diet, to break it down, and add it to our mind, body and spirit as we would break down food we eat and add it.  Just having a Bible and going to a building once a week to worship is not enough!

Notice the taste, first sweet.  Yes Gods words are sweet!  Then the bitterness comes in, why?  Because when we are granted knowledge, it is rare when you can just say "okay" and move on.  Knowledge usually causes us to act or ponder.  It is the same way here, we are granted knowledge through Gods word, and we are then subject to self evaluation or judgment.  It is then up to us (with Gods help) to change, to rid ourselves of sin, to go make disciples, to do the right thing, to love others.  That, in many cases can be a bitter adjustment.  In addition, for John, it was a sweet thing to be chosen for this task.  However, he is telling us how things will end, and that would have to be a very bitter, heartbreaking thing to do!

Time for a little self evaluation!  It is something we must do daily to make sure we are walking the path Christ has chosen for us.  Be in the Word daily, talk with God daily, pray daily!  The rewards are infinite!

Blessings on all till next time!

Revelation 10:2-4

Rev 10:2and he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left upon the earth:3 and he cried out with a great voice, as a lion roareth: and when he cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 And when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up these things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

As we left off there was a book or a "little roll" open.  The "little" in this passage is Christ giving John the revelation concerning a small period of time.  Another resource consideres this lillle roll/ book to be a Bible being unrolled as the time has passed until it has all be unrolled.  The Dakes bible states this book as none other than the book Christ took out of God's right hand in Jn 5:5-7.  In Rev 6:1-8: Christ breaks the seals that bind it.  I am more inclined to go with this line of thinking but, we will not know until we are caught up with Christ on that glorious day.

Righ foot upon the sea and left foot on the earth:
This is a defiant stance, it displays the power and awesomeness of God.  Christ is claiming his inheritance here, he has the deed and only He had done the redeeming with His blood upon the cross for us.  WHAT A GIFT !  This passage alone should convience you of the power of God and what he has and can do for you just because HE loves YOU!

Lion roar type of voice:  Lion roar is a conqueror type of sound.  In addition, this identifies Christ again because it is Him, the Lion of Judah (5:5).  See Isa.31:4&5; Jer.25:29-36; Hos. 11:10-11, plus there are more.

John is told things, things from the seven thunders.  We have read of thunder many times in the Bible, it often refers to judgment.  This could be the case here.  John is instructed to seal up what he was told.  2 Cor 12:14 speaks of secret things we (man) need not know.  We need to accept that John had this expirence and be content.  This is a facinating issue, man had always been courious and seeks things that God has forbidden, look a the Arc of the Covenant.  Men were forbidden to look in it, yet, it did not stop the Bethshemesh men.  However, as you draw closer to God, He will draw closer to you! (james 4:8) Ask Him for knowledge and wisdom and he will grant them...a little at a time, and nothing before your ready to see it!
It has happend to me time and time again....and I anxiously await the next time.  You should try it, just talk to Him, we so desires to talk with you!

Unil next time,
Blessings on ALL

Revelation 10:1-11: 14 prequel & Rev 10:1

The chapters of 10-11:14 are again a parenthetical passage.  Remember Parenthetical means;1. Set off within or as if within parentheses; qualifying or explanatory.  We are getting an explanation of things are happening along with the opening of the seals, but are not really the main event here.  Yet, the things that are mentioned in 10 - 11:14 need our attention.  It occurs between the 6 and 7th trumpet just as the first parenthetical passage was between the 6th and 7th seals.  (Rev 7: 1-17)  This gives us evidence of the order God has laid for us, it is Devine and must be viewed as such.

There are 4 parts to the passage:

1.  Rev 10, The Lord is preparing John for the sounding of the 7th Trumpet.  In addition, there are some moral principles that we need to grasp to better understand was is ahead for us in the sounding of the 7th trumpet.

2.  Rev 11:1-2;  Jerusalem captured by the Antichrist.

3.  Rev 11:3-12;  We get to meet the two witnesses who will oppose Antichrist

4.  Rev 11: 13-14The two witnesses ascend with the great earthquake.

All the passages are in the proper order and place of fulfillment.

Rev 10: 1I saw another strong angel coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud; and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire;

Angels are powerful, we find through out the Bible that some are more powerful than others. (in authority not strength)  See Rev 18:1, 2 Thes 1:7 & Jude 9.   The angel being described here is non other than Christ himself.  Why is He there before us as an angel?  Well, remember we are still dealing with Israel, and they are still waiting for the Messiah.  Since they are not believers in the Holiness of Jesus Christ, he is ascending as an angel still with the marks of the crucified Nazarene until they "get it".
This description can be no other but Christ!

The cloud is a symbol of divine glory.

The rainbow about His head is the one we read about earlier, it was around the throne of God (Chapter 4).  This could be a symbol of the covenant made with Noah.

Face was like the sun.  Think back to Saul, he saw Christ and that description is the same.

The feet like pillars of fire has been mentioned in Chapter one.  We also saw it in Daniel's description in Chapter 7.

I will leave you here for now.  The little book in his had will take some more research!

Blessings on all till next time!
