Daniel Issue

Dear friends,

It was brought to my attention that the source I sited, The Revelation of John by Wm Barclay, noted that the book of Daniel was written around 200 b.c.   However, the chart has Daniel written at 600 b.c.

This is taken from Wikipedia, "Though traditionally the book was believed to have been written by the Daniel figure of the court tales, around the year 536 BCE, today the scholarly consensus is generally that it is a product of Maccabean times. Though many evangelical commentators still defend a sixth century date,^[2] for mainstream scholarship the issue was settled over a century ago.^[3] The common view is that the court tales represent a stratum of older, traditional stories, while the visions and final redaction of the work date to the second century BCE. The visions describe the national crisis that occurred under Antiochus IV Epiphanes, a Seleucid king who attempted to introduce Hellenistic religious practices, including the worship of idols, into the temple and the Jewish religion more generally, sparking outrage from Biblical authors."


This is a perfect example of why you shouldn't take every thing your told as "gospel"  (pardon the pun)!  Doing research, especially Biblical and political will enlighten you.  You were "beautifully and wonderfully made" with a strong mind and a desire to search for the truth.  Ask God to direct you, He gives me the direction and the Holy Spirit takes me the rest of the way there!  I cannot imagine going through my life now without Him.  


Turn over you life now!  It's as easy as ABC...
A...Admit you need Him..(we ALL do)
B...Believe Christ died for YOU and your sins and that he has risen again!  (Cause He did, there were witnesses!)
C...Confess HIM to be the Most important part of your live, Confess Him as your Lord ad Savior!


Ask the Holy Spirit to come into your life and guide you.
