Revelation 12:5

Rev 12:5 She gave birth to a son, a male child, who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter. And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne.

We see right of the bat that the male child will rule all the nations...There is much controversy over the man child.  Some say (as in The Revelation of John vol. 2 by Barclay) that the man child is Jesus Christ.  In Lectures On the Revelation, by Ironside,  it mentions that the woman is symbolized as the church as a whole and the child is "the overcoming part of the church".  This is partially correct in that the 144,000 are those who came to know Christ after the first taking up of the church as mentioned earlier.  But remember, the Church did NOT give birth to Christ.  (Ironside did point this out in the book) 

We have read in previous blogs that there are many proofs that the Man-Child is the 144,000  Jews.  The Dakes Bible gives 15 proofs.  Here are a few:

1.  The child could not be Gentiles or the Church because the woman would have to produce her own kind.  So, if the woman is Jewish (a symbol of Israel), the child must be Jewish.
2.  The child cannot be Christ.  We saw from Rev 4:1 on, is after the churches.  So this is occurring BEFORE the second advent of Christ....how can the child be Christ now.?
3.  We saw in Rev 4:1 that the church was ruptured, so it cannot be the church as a whole.
4.  The 144,000 are the 10% or the first fruits that are to be given to God from Israel after the rapture.  These persons were not saved at the time of the rapture because, if they were, they would have gone when the church was ruptured.

Here is another example that it is the 144,000.  The next verse is that of ruling all the nations with an iron scepter.  Remember, we are all to rule with Christ.  The O.T Saints, The church saints, and the tribulation saints....future proof  Rev 20:4.  In addition, see Revelation 1: 5&6.  Plus there are many Biblical (old and New testament) verses of us ruling with Christ.   Jer. 30:9; Hos. 3:5;1Cor 4:8; Ps. 149:6-9 & many more.

Now, it mentions that the child will be caught up.  Alive!, as soon as it is born.  Think, who is alive and still remaining a threat to the dragon. (yes, Christ is always alive and with us, but we have explained why it is not Him here)  Who is left that God would want to take?  Yes, the 144,000....again, more proof.  The OT saints and the church are all taken by this time.

There will be other proofs in the future reading of Revelation that we will get to that prove that the Man-Child is the 144,000 but, we need to continue blogging and figure it out when it happens!
