Revelation 7:9-12

Rev 7:9After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues,stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshiped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen.

Last blog we explained the 144,000.  This next verse, 7:9 we are seeing the "great multitude" from everywhere!  These are the future martyrs, the last company of the redeemed in the book of Revelation.  The 144,000 are all living persons that will be translated without dying (see Rev12:5).  The martyrs occur ofter the rapture and include the saints under the altar and those killed during the tribulation, dying for Christ.  This will be talked about in Ch 14, 15 and 20 (something to look forward to!)
Things to notice in these 4 verses:
1.  Notice that it does not say that it could not be counted, just that "no man could number".   This meaning that if you saw them standing there, you could not tell how many there was, not that they could not be numbered.
2.  They are mainly Gentiles arriving in victory, in the white robes.  They do not appear war-worn, beaten down, cold, hungry or miserable.  Praise God they are victorious!
3.  They are seeing some of the blessings of standing before Christ, being clothed in White and praising God in person...before the throne!
4. ALL mentioned fell before the throne and ALL worshiped God!  AMEN
God is our salvation and Christ is the one who purchased it for us!

The Dake's Annotated Bible mentions verse 12 as a 7 fold Ascription to God
Ascription-the act of ascribing a quality or characteristic to someone or something.
1.Blessing- worship
2. Glory-praise
3.Wisdom- omniscience
4.Thanksgiving
5.Honour-reputation
6.Power-omnipotence
7. Might-strength

Translation:

1.  We must always be a blessing to God.  He has made us and has us.
2.  All the glory goes to God for he is worthy, He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
3. God is the source of all wisdom.
4   God is the one who provides us with His grace and mercy, all thanksgiving should go to Him who created us.
5.  We must honor God.  We need to remember that not only should we request things from our Heavenly Father but, we should honor Him by giving of ourselves and all we have.
6.  God has displayed His power over and over in my life as I am sure He has in your too.  If not, turn your life over to Him and watch what He can do if you'll only let Him.
7.  There is no greater might/strength than what is found in our Lord.  Lean on Him, life needs strength, and our Lord has it for you to utilize, with His help.

Blessings on all till next time,

-Calabash
