Rev 9:1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit 2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
"The Pit"- the abyss or the bottomless pit, is mentioned many times in Revelation. Revelation 9:1,2,11; 11:7 & 20:1&3, it is said to be a place of punishment, for the false prophet and Satan, for the fallen angels, and the demons. But, not their final place, that will be the lake of fire.
We have already spoke of a star falling from heaven, (3rd trumpet, 1/3 of fresh waters poisoned) this is more than likely the same person. A man of considerable power, religious power, only this time he has the key to the bottomless pit. The same pit mentioned above where all the evil are placed to be punished.
The terror on the Earth is switching from nature and human terror to demonic.
The "fallen star" still maintains his power only now he is teaching heresies: Denying the Lord and His promises, mercy, grace, power and love.
The fallen star opens up the pit and a blinding smoke billowing out in such great magnitude that it blocks out the sun and the air. This could mean that the fallen star's teaching and works are so powerful, and that those who are left are so eager to have any hope, that it will be easy to proclaim the grand delusion. This is prophesied in 2 Thessalonians 2:11 & 12, "And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie12That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness." The sun becoming dark are those who are listening to the "fallen Star" and not seeing the truth, their eyes are "clouded" by the smoke of the deception.
Do not forget that Satan is also called "the prince of the power of the air". We have just read in Revelation that the "air" was darkened. The air is now perfect for Satan. With the Holy Ghost removed from the presence of man, the teachings of the day will be difficult to discern. There are so many teachings today already that are far from the actual Word of God, The Holy Bible, that it will be even easier for them to run amuck everywhere.
This leads into the next verse "from the smoke the locusts came", and they had power over the minds of men. The smoke, remember is the false teaching and "the pit" has been opened by the "fallen star" unleashing the fallen angles, demons and evil which will have power over the minds of men.
Isn't this a great reason to tell your friends, family, neighbors and the man on the street that Christ loves us and wants us to be safe, and with Him!? Search your heart, and what you are being taught, is it what "the Word" says? Was there someone in your life that cared for you and wanted you to be with Christ and know His power, mercy, grace and love? Isn't is time to "pay it forward"?
